Breastfeeding in Ireland- A brief history

A recent poll from our Instagram followers highlighted that 57% of mums were the first to breastfeeding in their family, meaning their mothers and grandmothers did not breastfeed.

That's a whole lot of generational support, and experience that we have lost.

I discussed this recently with Gobnait Murphy (HSE Lactation Consultant) on Clare FM, and afterwards Ruth from got in touch to ask me to write about it.
